It is link building , what would this do to my site in long term and short term ?
So basically link building is the part of the so called SEO of the site which enhances the site,it’s contents and if it is done rightly then it would not only increase the search engine ranking but because of this same search engine placements, would result in an increased number of search results being directed to your site from the search engines as well .
There are many other questions as well before you do something on the website and they are like these ..
Am I the only one in this field?
Certainly not , there are many other sites doing much better than you before your site even appeared but remember,one thing is that they might be doing the same thing but you would have to do even better than them so that you might even rank better than them in the serps.
Should the links be for one month, three month,six month, or one year?
According to me , when you rank for a term it is because of some website that have contributed towards your success and if you try to remove that particular link then it might (In long term) can create a problem for your site but many of the webmasters prefer that their links be remained on the site for permanent time so that both might get the benefit from the links. The advertiser gets the benefit of SERPS while the publisher gets the benefit of money. Both are in win-win situation. So you might even try to exchange links with other sites. You can do that as well.
